Susan Ross is a Brooklyn based artist whose abstract paintings evoke the natural world. She has exhibited her work in group and solo exhibitions and is the recipient of several awards, including an artist grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Susan is a member of The Painting Center and of the tART artist collective. She received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a MFA from Pratt Institute and studied painting and art history at Lorenzo de Medici Art Institute in Florence, Italy.
Collaborating with Melissa Staiger in 2009, Susan co-curated and moderated an artist panel for
Patterns of Growth at NurtureART Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Susan and Melissa are co-curating
Source, an exhibition featuring seven abstract painters, sponsored by
Powerhouse Projects and the
CUNY Center for Worker Education.
Source will open Thursday, April 22nd, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, and be on view April 22 - May 28, 2010.
